The Goby Flywheel is a year-long, hands-on intensive designed specifically for lead pastors centered around mental wellness. Toby Slough will walk you through our twelve-month intensive offering wisdom and guidance that directly addresses your church's unique season of mental health focus. This is more than a theoretical approach; it is a practical, personal, and transformative journey that will equip you with the tools and insights so that your church can lead the way in your community in the area of mental wellness.

For Lead Pastors, your journey begins with a powerful two-day retreat, setting the stage for a year of growth and discovery. You'll participate in monthly virtual lab sessions with Toby, diving into strategies that amplify your impact without overwhelming your workload. A significant part of our journey will be dedicated to nurturing your mental wellness, ensuring you have the strength and clarity to lead effectively.

For Your Leadership Team: While you're being mentored, your team will be on their own personal growth journey with a strong emphasis on mental wellness. Monthly courses, activation exercises, and virtual lab sessions are all designed to boost their effectiveness, unity, and personal well-being.

The Problem: According to a national survey conducted in October 2022 by CNN and the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 9 out of 10 adult Americans believe the United States is experiencing a mental health crisis.

Some key findings from the survey:

  1. Americans put the opioid epidemic near the top, with more than two-thirds of people identifying it as a crisis rather than merely a problem.
  2. An estimated 20 million of our nation’s young people can currently be diagnosed with a mental health disorder. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1 in 5 U.S. children ages 3–17 has a mental, emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorder.”-U.S. Surgeon General Issues Advisory on Youth Mental Health Crisis Further Exposed by COVID-19 Pandemic, 2019
  3.
